General Content: Island of Dawn
Unfortunately, our Island of Dawn rework from patch 1.1 did not quite meet our expectations for polished content suitable for players. With this patch, we're bringing a pretty significant overhaul to Island of Dawn to hopefully make it more appealing to a wider variety of players.
As always, we will continue to monitor all player feedback regarding Island of Dawn to turn it into the best version of itself that players want it to be.
- 9 new daily quests have been added to the Hunting Mission Board located at North Dock near Rhutan. These daily quests will reward you with additional Adventurer's Vanguard reputation points & credits.
-
- Adventurer's Vanguard reputation credits can be exchanged for various items through talking to Loalle in Highwatch, or her assistant Niola at North Dock in the Island of Dawn.
- A new vanguard request has been added that can be completed by killing any BAM 24 times.
- The Dawn Hunters reputation shop has been significantly reworked, with new additions and some price adjustments to existing items.
- NEW!: A new flying mount has been added to the reputation shop, with the best-in-class stats of any flying mount.
- New achievements have been added under "Encounters and Exploration" for each monster type, boss type, and rare mob type.
Balance
- All mob, boss mob, and BAM HP values have been re-adjusted by a small amount.
- Boss monster HP and damage have been significantly increased to cater more to party-play and/or high tier gear.
- All monster loot drop rates have been increased, with the exception of gold drops.
- The Island of Dawn Loot Hunter Boosts have been reduced from 300 -> 100% and 350 -> 150% respectively.
- The highest tier of boss monsters and all rare mob spawns will now always drop gold and a new Astrum Coin box that randomly awards between 50 - 1000 Astrum Coin.
- Bosses and rare monsters have had their respawn times increased, as well as only spawn in channel 1 to discourage channel-swap farming.
- Monster "anti-cc" mechanics will now happen a little more frequently.
- Onyx Hydraths, Naga Battlemasters, and Iron Giants have had their stats greatly increased.
- Slightly increased spawn density of BAMs around Tainted Gorge
- Onyx Hydraths, Naga Battlemasters, and Iron Giants now also give Dawn Hunters reputation experience and credits.
PvE Equipment & Gearing
Coming with this patch are two new pieces of gear aimed at players who have been finished with the original gear progression for a while. After listening to widespread community feedback about the state of gearing prior to patch 1.1, we have noticed that many players now find themselves with little motivation to continue engaging with content. We wanted to release a new cycle of gear progression through these relidoms to appease players looking to continue their progression while we work diligently on a new set of gear that players will be able to enjoy for a while.
Elder's Relic & Halidom
- Available as Pumped (power), Carving (crit) and Bitter (power & crit) variants.
- Obtainable from Corrupted RK-9 Kennel, Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Extreme), Sanctuary's Ruins (Hard), and Harrowhold (Progression).
- Has five random rolls that can be rerolled using a Elder's Relic/Halidom Reroll Scroll.
- Can be dismantled to obtain Elder's Gems, which are used to prevent equipment lines from being randomized.
Elder's Gem
- Obtainable from Corrupted RK-9 Kennel, Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Extreme), Sanctuary's Ruins (Hard), and Harrowhold (Progression).
- Obtainable from dismantling Elder's Relic & Halidom.
- Used to lock desired equipment lines when using Elder's Reroll Scrolls.
Dungeon Changes
We are aware that many players are becoming increasingly bored with the current roster of dungeons. We are working hard every day to come up with solutions that will please most players. For now, we are introducing two new dungeons into the roster to hopefully alleviate some of that boredom that players may be facing.
We chose to replace Rampaging RK-9 Kennel with its more difficult counterpart Corrupted RK-9 Kennel because we've noticed that many endgame players are missing a difficult dungeon to sink their teeth into. We are aware that this discrepancy in dungeon difficulty may impact the gearing experience, and we're in the process of considering solutions to alleviate any pain points.
We chose to close Corrupted Skynest (Hard) because despite being a dungeon that the community voted pretty heavily for, it never saw the level of activity that it should for being tier 3 content. We've opened Sanctuary's Ruins (Hard) in its place as a similarly challenging dungeon that hopefully a wider variety of players will be able to enjoy.
The following dungeons are closing their doors:
- Rampaging RK-9 Kennel
- Corrupted Skynest (Hard)
The following dungeons are opening their doors:
- Corrupted RK-9 Kennel
- Sanctuary's Ruins (Hard)
Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Extreme)
- Fixed an issue where fire carpets would still spawn after a wipe or boss reset
Draakon's Arena (Hard)
- Fixed an issue where the "puddle" mechanic was missing a visual effect
Training Ground
- Fixed an issue where [Training Ground] Contagion would affect players close to the boss
- Fixed an issue where HP & MP regen buffs would not apply
Harrowhold (Progression)
We have received a lot of feedback regarding the loot from Harrowhold, and with this patch we're finally able to address those concerns. We have significantly overhauled the loot tables to hopefully incentivize more people to enjoy learning and running this dungeon.
- All untradeable gear enchanting material drop amounts were increased by 50%.
- Golden/Silver Talents and their derivatives (Darics, Siglos, Plates) will now become eligible loot starting from round 3, round 6, and round 10 respectively.
- Round 10 has a 100% chance of dropping an Elder's Relic and Halidom, as well as 2 of each Reroll Scroll and 9 Elder's Gems.
Leaderboards
The following leaderboards have been removed:
- Rampaging RK-9 Kennel
- Corrupted Skynest (Hard)
The following leaderboards will be available:
- Corrupted RK-9 Kennel
- Sanctuary's Ruins (Hard)
In addition, with this patch we will be trying out a new Leaderboard season schedule, with leaderboard rankings lasting for 2 weeks instead of a month to better match with the future frequency of server updates. The leaderboard will now calculate on Friday 10:00 AM server time. We are also hoping that reducing the duration of leaderboard seasons will spark new competition and lead to less player burn-out. As always, we will monitor how players feel about this change and make adjustments accordingly.
Class Changes
While we are overall happy regarding the state of most classes, we admit that some turned out to be too strong. In this update, we are going to finetune the adjustments applied in patch 1.1, as well as apply some bugfixes. Contrary to some unpopular belief, we are constantly monitoring the state of class balance, we just wish to strike a balance between patch cycles and not obstruct our players from being able to play on the server with frequent server downtimes.
We appreciate your continued patience while we try our best to work out a satisfactory class balance as we work through the many variables that our Talisman system creates.
Berserker
- Fixed an issue where Inescapable Doom (Infuriate) cooldown would not be displayed properly while under the effects of Intimidation.
Brawler
Brawler DPS is still rocking the class rankings. This has been the case due to a unintended interaction with Counter Powerlink Glyph applying unintentionally in DPS stance. We have fixed this issue and we will continue to keep an eye on the class's performances.
- Fixed an issue where the Powerlinked Counter glyph would still be available during Growing Fury (Irregular)
- Fixed an issue where where the Pummel and Almighty EPs would not work properly
Gunner Talismans
The Gunner buffs applied on patch 1.1 have overshot by a decently large margin. We are tuning down two talismans which we believe to be the cause of Gunner's current overperformance. We will continue to monitor the state of the class and apply any further adjustment(s) as needed.
Heavy Payload
- Crit chance malus increased from -50% to -70%
- Damage buff reduced from +300% to +200%
Charged Detonation
- Damage buff reduced from +1000% to +700%
- NEW!: now also increases skill crit chance by 30%
Ninja Talismans
With the buffs to the Windswept Fury talisman in patch 1.1, the Combo Fury talisman has fallen out of favor. We are adjusting the talisman to similar stats as Windswept Fury to hopefully make the melee playstyle more viable.
Combo Fury
- Increased damage from 0.8% to 2.4%
- Increased the duration of stacks from 6s to 8s
Priest
- Increased crosshair radius for Energy Stars, Plague of Exhaustion, Ishara's Lullaby and Divine Intervention to match Mystic lockons
To clarify: This change does NOT increase the range of the lockons, it only affects how accurate your crosshair placement must be.
Reaper
- Shadow Reaping (Blackout skill advancement) now provides the Assassination buff directly on cast rather than on hit
Valkyrie
Evasion
- Can now be canceled 250ms earlier than it would normally end
- New glyph: Strategic Evasion - 0 Cost
- Effect: decreases travel distance by 15%
Runeburst
- Cast animation now scales with attack speed
- Dreamblaze stacks cancel on Runeburst animation end now have a 1000ms delay
Valkyrie Talismans
Sigil of Battle: reworked
- New effect: Increases damage by 7.5% but increases all skills cooldowns by 20%
Slayer Talismans
With the buffs from patch 1.1 and the following hotfix adjustment afterwards, Slayer gained more popularity and demostrated to be a very strong class. We are aware most of its power comes from Blade Momentum, so we are tuning it down slightly to bring Slayer on par with other classes. We are also aware that many Slayers are not happy with the Blade Momentum meta and we are looking into a solution for making the classic Slayer playstyle more viable.
Blade Momentum
- Reduced damage increase from 10% to 6.5%
Sorcerer
- Fixed an issue where certain hits of Arcane Pulse did not receive the 40% crit chance buff added from the previous patch
Sorcerer Talismans
Our last major patch has pushed down Flame Pillar playstyle below our desired metrics. We are giving it a small push to bring it back up to the meta.
Fiery Awakening
- Increased damage buff from 20% to 24%
Warrior
- Reverted BD (block) -> BD changes we made last patch due to unintended behavior.
PvP Adjustments
We are aware PvP has been quite stale in the past weeks. We are currently working on an update to bring it some fresh air. This update still needs some time, but we will try to bring it as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
Battleground Changes
- Increased mana restoration in raid fight battlegrounds from 13% every 5 seconds to 18% every 5 seconds
Shore Hold
- Reduced attack speed effect from "Red Buff" from +30% to +20%
Other Changes
- Guardian Legion BAMs Vehemos, Dreadreaper, and Magnuut HP increased by 50%.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Vanguard Additional Rewards to the intended new cap of 22
- Fixed an issue where Painblast CDR glyph and Thunderous Pain would not stack
